Salvatore Magazù is Full Professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Messina, where he coordinates the research group on Complex Systems and Atmospheric and Climate Physics.
Prof. S. Magazù has received numerous national and international awards, among which the 2000 Scientia Europea Prize awarded by the French Academy of Sciences stands out.
From 2009 to today he has been president of the Interuniversity Consortium of Applied Physical Sciences (CISFA).

Since 2017 she has been a member of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Jury chaired by Lucia Votano.
From 2013 to 2015 he was president of the International Consortium Le Studium COSMO, based in Orléans (France), made up of five international partners (countries involved: France, Hungary, Italy, Sweden and USA) in the field of cosmeceutics and operating in collaboration with the French Cosmetic Center (Cosmetic Valley) of the Region Center Val de Loire.
Since 2019 he has held the role of professorship at the Center d’Etudes Superieures de la Renaissance (CESR) in Tours (France).
He was a member of the National Scientific Qualification Commission 02/B1 Experimental Physics of Matter – Disciplinary Scientific Sector FIS/01 – Experimental Physics
In the year 2016-2017 he was Research fellow at Le STUDIUM Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies at CNRS (CBM) and at CNRS Laboratoire Interfaces, Confinement, Matériaux et Nanostructures (ICMN), Orléans, France.
From 2010 to 2012 he was Chairman of the Scientific College “Disordered Systems and Liquids” of the European Synchrotron Radiation facility ESRF (Grenoble, France).
From 2009 to 2010 he was an associate researcher of Le STUDIUM Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies within the project “Structure and dynamics of liquid materials” at the Conditions Extrêmes et Matériaux: Haute Température et Irradiation CEMHTI – CNRS laboratory, Orléans, France.
From 2008 to 2010 he was a member of the scientific board “Structure and Dynamics of Liquids and Glasses” of the neutron scattering facility Institut Max Von Laue – Paul Langevin (ILL, Grenoble, France).
From 2007 to 2010 he was a member of the national board of the Italian Society of Neutron Spectroscopy (SISN).
Since 2018 member of the “University Research Center for the study of Extreme Environments and Extremophiles” at the Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences.
Since 2019 spin-off Founder and president of the Scientific Council of the Innovative Start-up ATHENA Green Solutions S.r.l. specialized in the field of materials http://www.athenagreensolutions.com/.
