The research topics concerning the Physics macro-area involve, to a significant extent, the integrated use of experimental investigation techniques, such as laser light scattering (static light scattering, photon correlation spectroscopy, Rayleigh, Rayleigh-wing, Brillouin and Raman scattering), Fourier transform infrared absorption, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), thermodynamic measurements, etc., with experiments carried out in the laboratories of the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences and Earth Sciences (MIFT); neutron scattering (neutron diffraction, quasi-elastic, elastic and inelastic neutron scattering, small-angle neutron scattering), with experiments carried out at the ISIS Facility (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Chilton-Didcot, Oxford), the Berlin Neutron Scattering Center (BENSC, Hahn-Meitner-Institut in Berlin), the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble; and synchrotron light spectroscopy with experiments carried out at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, for the characterization of the spatio-temporal correlations of material systems that are of interest from both a theoretical modeling perspective and an experimental and applicative one.
